Ah! I loved the first book from that trilogy, but I couldn't find the second one anywhere. ..I must ask my librarian..

Fine You're a hopeless case.
Ooh, all of you who know me will think me sad (Great Goat in particular!), but I have to say that possibly books by Tim Bowler could fall under this category: they aren't emotional in the way that the other books we were discussing are, but they are highly charged with emotion, and that's what drives the narrative along. Then again, Starseeker did aactually make me cry.
